2018 Stroke Play Championship at Baylands

July 7thand July 8th, 2018

Welcome to the 2018 Stroke Play Championship.  This is a two-day major tournament.
Carts are not included in the entry fee and can be rented for $16 per rider.
In this Individual Low Net format, we will adhere to USGA rules, Baylands Golf Links rules, and PAGC local rules.

There will be 3 flights: the Palmer Flight and the Nicklaus Flight, will both be played from the Blue Tees; and the Woods Flight will be played from the White Tees. The Club will award prize money and points for low gross, first low net, second low net, third low net, and fourth low net of each flight.  Scorecard playoffs will be used to break ties for the flight competition.

The club will also recognize the overall low gross winner and the overall low net winner.  USGA rule 3-5 will be utilized to adjust the course handicap, allowing players from different tees to compete equitably in the overall low gross and overall low net competition.  Winners will have their names added to the wall of fame plaque currently displayed in the men’s restroom.  If there are ties for the overall winners, ties will be broken by an on course playoff.

At the time of this writing, there are no hazard stakes on the course. As you may know, Baylands Golf Links is still in startup mode and eventually will have hazards marked with stakes.  Unless hazard stakes are present, you will play your ball as it lies. So, if you hit into the tall native grass the ball is still in play. You may want to hit a provisional ball. Please use prudent judgment and keep up the pace of play.

There are some foursomes with mixed flights, so be mindful to tee off from the correct tee box, or suffer the consequences. Refer to Rule 11-4b.  Also a reminder regarding Hole #14; It has 2 green complexes, so if your ball happens to land on the wrong putting green, make sure to take free relief as per Rule 25-3.

Please return your signed scorecards to Chuck Pickett in the restaurant. Tee times for Sunday July 8thwill be available on the Club web site and in the pro shop Sunday morning.  First group goes off at 10:03 AM.

Prize money and TOC points for each flight:

Low Gross: $80 and 80 points; 1st Low Net: $80 and 80 points; 2nd Low Net: $60 and 60 points; 3rd Low Net: $30 and 30 points; 4th Low Net: $20 and 20 points.

Our next tournament will be played at Poppy Ridge on Sunday July 22nd(Modified Stableford). Sign-ups for this event closes on July 12th.

Good luck and keep the ball in play.
